wahaha..long time no blog liao..but since the production of Little Nonya, there has been a steep increase in the interest of anything peranakan. Although I have always been meaning to visit the peranakan musuem, the show kind of nudged me to go for it. So I went with my sec sch friend one sunny day and there I was immersed in the peranakan culture. Honestly, I think the show did a very good job of glamouring the culture. At the museum, there seemed to be a distance from the culture. There are many multimedia activities and videos available to allow u to understand the culture in creative ways, but the standstill of all the exhibitions lack the special touch. Still it was interesting to see all that was shown in the show itself. A pity, there was no mention of the dishes that set my salivary glands flowing.

Out of the blue, I had a craving for this particular place in Bukit Timah that my parents used to bring me to. I didn't realise it was a peranakan restaurant until I went to check out the menu online. Yum yum..the food there was sedap. I finally got to eat authentic Babbi Ponteh. It was really nice. I tried Ayam ponteh in Malacca during the holidays but the taste is totally different.
As only the 2 of us was there, we only ordered 3 dishes Sambal Kangkung, Babbi Ponteh and Udang Sambal. The first 2 was really worth the value. I polished my rice up very quickly. All I needed was the gravy from the babbi ponteh and my eyes never left my plate thereafter. Udang Sambal was not bad too but the prawns given was rather little and it was a really small dish. All the prices there cost abt 5 bucks per dish, reasonable portions for their meat dishes. The only exceptions are their seafood which cost slightly more but ranges abt 6~15 bucks. Their dessert was really good too..We tried Gula Melaka, Chendol and the fav of the night Penyet Pisang( Hot dessert of bananas) Mmmm...it is a small bowl but only cost $1.20 each.

Ivins Ivins is the place to go if you crave or wanna try authentic peranakan food. It has been around for a rather long time. Several branches to date but the one I went to was Binjai Park along Bukit Timah road. Interested parties can make there way there by bus as well as as it is quite near the main road. Be prepared to wait for a long time on weekends and dinner. Closed on Thursdays.

Yesterday, Charlene and I went to Lydia's birthday party. (Refer to my blog for more details). Then Lydia, Charlene and I had a discussion about the Christmas party.

Charlene is thinking of having the Xmas party on the 20th Dec, Sat. She thinking of Jap theme. She says she want to cook Japanese Curry.

Then Jia Yan, you know how to make Sushi ma? That time i ate before the vegetarian Sushi at your friend's house. Very nice. ^^ Then i can make Japan jelly. And maybe Pancake? I choose not to contact him via phone as I don't even know who the hell he is. We only managed to exchange msn and chat online.

The 1st conversation online:
This guy keep asking me to be his girlfriend and he insisted to meet up (only the 2 of us and he don't want other parties). He keep asking questions related to sex which I feel he is sick!

ANOTHER ISSUE: True story - Robbery Tactics in Singapore

Dear Friends:

you MUST read about this email. I received from a friend. I don't know how true it is but it is better to be save than sorry.Please forward to your family members or friends.

It was about 3 weeks ago, I was at the Shell station getting diesel. It was about 11:30pm. I was approached by 2 men and 2 women in a car. The man that was driving asked me 'What kind of perfume do you wear?' I was a bit confused and I asked him 'Why?'. He said 'We are selling some name brand perfumes, at cheap prices.' I said I had no money.. He then reached out of the car and handed me paper that was laminated; it had many perfumes on it. I looked quickly at it and gave it back. I said, I have no money. He said it is OK, we take cheques, cash or credit cards. Then the people in the car began to laugh.. I just got in my car and said no thanks.Then I received this e-mail yesterday and it chills up my spine. Please read this. It is not joke.. Here is the e-mail I received:

Our world seems to be getting crazier by the day. Pipe bombs in mailboxes and sickos in parking lots with perfume. Be careful. I was approached yesterday afternoon around 1:30 pm in a car park by two males who asked what kind of perfume I was wearing. Then they asked if I'd like to sample some fabulous scent they were willing to sell me at a very reasonable rate I probably would have agreed had I not received an e-mail some weeks ago warning of a 'Wanna smell this neat perfume?' scam. Someone walks up to you at the malls or in parking lots and asking you to SNIFF PERFUME that they are selling at a cheap price.

THIS IS NOT PERFUME...IT IS ETHER! When you sniff it, you'll pass out. They'll take your wallet, your valuables and heaven knows what else. The men continued to stand between parked cars, I guess to wait for someone else to hit on. I stopped a lady going towards them, pointing at them and told her about how I was sent an e-mail at work. If it were not for this e-mail, I probably would have sniffed the 'perfume' but thanks to the generosity of an e-mailing friend, I was spared whatever might have happened to me. I wanted to do the same for you.

Today is really really a terrible day for me.
My whole day is like spolit lor. Feel like crying out loud.
How can i be so unlucky.

Okay basically this is what happened today......
Today is deadline for my Business Law Mid Term Individual Project.
Was actually quite confident about my answers and all. Until during tutorial today, my tutor said we must include a certain point in the Project. If not we will be like penalized by him. To my absolute horror, i did not put that point down!!!! Cos i thought it was like not relevant and the lecturer has only just taught the topic so wouldn't make sense to put it down in my project.
But since he say until like that, will penalized if never put down!!! Of cos i panic and wanted to change the contents. To my horror yet again, i realized that i left my soft copy of the project at home. Damn!!!!

Called home.
To my third horror, my dad and brother was not at home. They were the only ones who knew how to use email in the family. I wanted to ask them to send the file to my email.
Only my mum was at home. Shit!!!
Bo Bian!!! Then i have to guide her on how to use the email, how to attach file blah blah. FYI she is those kind that dunno how to use email one. Then when type email address the @ i must also teach her by saying that u have to press shift button then press 2 at the same time. She dun even noe what is shift. I have to tell her by saying it is the button beside 'Z'. These went on for like 30mins before the file was successfully sent to me. Which leaves me only about 1 more hour before my next lesson starts.
Panic Panic Panic.
Panic results in low quality work.
I added in the point the tutor mention. But very hazy. Cos i don't understand the point well enough. Its just taught lor. Resulting in very hazy response to the issue.
Then because i added in the points, my flow of the whole essay is affected as well. Darn.
Then okay. Handed in the project.

Here comes the juicy part.
Then comes biz law lecture time. Well, we have a really nice lecturer for your info. Then she announce to us saying that we DO NOT need to include that point in our project. When i heard that i just wanted to cry out loud. I feel like shouting vulgarities at our tutor.
I heard from the others that the lecturer actually scolded our tutor for telling us to write that point in. Cos it just taught and like not fair to us. She later assures us that our stupid tutor woudn't penalized us whether we put the point in or not.
The thing is because of the stupid tutor who misled us, my essay has been turned into one that doesn't flow anymore. My essay has become very low quality already. The points anihow one. Not organised.
And because of this i almost scolded my mum as i was impatient and panicky when i taught her to send me the file. Like completely spoil my Friday.

I really hate my lecturer. He better give me a reasonable grade for this one.
He owes the rest of the class this!!!!!

I can't believe that a university which is recently ranked 30th among the world university would have a professor like that teaching his students.
Seriously, i hope he don't stay on and will leave soon cos these kinda professor would only let our ranking drop further and further or hinder our progress.

Oh and to add on. Basically, i don't understand a single word of what he says during tutorial.
I can proudly say that my original essay is done not because of me attending his tutorial but its because of my own readings and the lectures. It was converted to a lousy one after his misleading.
I think if not for the lecturer, i would have seriously flunk this module. Haiz.

Flea Market

Hihi..everybody seems sooo busy..hope we will have a chance to meet up soon..

Anyway, I have been going to flea markets..actually only 2 so far but it is a very interesting experience. It started with my sister who rented a stall at the community centre near her house. It cost only 10 dollars a day. She shared with someone and end up only needing to pay only $2.50 per person.You can sell whatever you want except no food (since I didn't see anyone selling food) It is like a pasar malam and the things are spread out on a cloth on the ground. There is a wide range from books, clothes, shoes, accessories and even toys. My sister mainly sold baby clothes. Business was not very good though coz the crowd was quite small. It could also be that it was held over the weekend during the mid autumn festival. YOu can find lots of cheap stuff there but the thing is most are used stuff. But occasionally, there are ppl selling brand new cheap stuff.

Yesterday I went to east coast with my family to bike and I came across the singapore car boot sale. It is there where people simply open there car boot and start selling whatever they have. It is a much larger scale flea market. It is really interesting. Saw a couple of stuff which I thought was really nice. But then again, if you are buying clothes, you will not be abble to try it on. Alrighty, hope everyone is doing fine. See ya!

Hey guys long time no see.
I have been really busy with school work recently. Sometimes so busy until i wanna faint le.
Out of the five school days. I got 2 days where i got to go home onli at 8pm. Got one day i can onli go home at 10pm. Wah sian. Haha.

Aniway, i changed the blog song to 冒险世界 by 公主帮.
The results of the 棒棒堂二军 is already out.
And for you information and those 棒棒堂 supporters out there. All the 棒棒堂 guys will be replaced by a new batch of people. I was like so sad when i heard the news lar. Bad mood that day really!!!

But i guess its time for these guys to "graduate" and soar to greater heights ba.

SaKae Buffet!!Yum Yum..

Alright alright..I know all I blog is food but that is really my field of expertise..Haha..

It has been a long time since I ate sakae buffet..The last time was with you guys at Lot 1 during JC days..That is soooo long ago..Must diet so cannot keep eating buffet..Wahahahaha..so the many other times I went to sakae, I walways eat ala carte..So will end up counting the plates and calculating how much I can eat..

Recently, I went to eat sakae buffet coz I realise what a good deal it is.

Due to the ever increasing price of the colour plates (now is 2.29- increase 39 cents from last time I ate buffet) So ex la..If eat ala carte 9 plates already 20 plates..last time at least can eat 2 plates more..

Then I found out that the student buffet is 13.90++ and it includes all colour plates, 1 red plate, wakame or beancurd udon, and dessert ( 2 strawberry smiles, 2 ice cream mochi per pax)

The incentive for me is the red plate la..I mean I could never bear to spent on red plate.

Super worth it la!!I strongly reccomend all of you to make use of our student card to get this good deal. SIM, NUS and NTU students are eligible for the student buffet I mention above.
Go eat, spare no moment.

Remember: Do not watse food..Wastage is charged accordingly =)

Crazy Impulse

Okay guys,
I did a really crazy thing yesterday.

On Monday, i was like pondering on whether i should join a cca in uni.
Then if i really did, what cca should i join?
I was like really interested in Chinese Pop Singing and they happen to have that cca on campus.
Its one of the sub clubs in the NUS cultural activities club. The club name is called Voices (cool huh).
I was like then thinking whether i should join. Factors that discourage me from doing so includes this sem having 2 days with evening lectures, having to take 6 modules resulting in a packed schedule, not even courage to take part in the audition and not enough time.
But i dunno why sms the person in charge on impulse.
The person replied back saying that the last day of audition will be the next day (which was yesterday). I was so panicky and nervous. Should i join the audition or not?

After further encouragement from my friends, i decided to pick a song and join the audition. Throughout the whole process, i was really nervous and scared. The song i choose kept on changing cos i dunno which song is best for me.
In fact, i changed the song the last minute before i went into the audition room.
The song i sang was 解脱 by 张惠妹.
I felt that i didnt do my best. And almost forgot the lyrics (dunno whether they found out abt that).

Aniway, that night they sent me an email saying that I GOT IN.
There will be a welcome tea on Mon but i cant join cos of my evening lecture. Damn!!!

But seriously, i felt that God made this whole thing happen.
I didn't even think about joining the audition until only on mon and the last day of the audition happen to be on tues. What coincidence!!!
I asked God to give me a sign whether i should keep on pursuing Singing or just treat it as a leisure kind of thing. He let me IN the club. Im so grateful my lord. Thank You so much!!!!

Next think i worry is that i hope that i would be able to manage my time properly. The free time i have now are getting lesser and lesser. I would be busier. N i seriously hope that practises DO NOT clash with my evening lectures on Mon and Thurs. I also hope can make mew friends there.

P.S:~ Im suffering from sore thoart today. The day after the auditions. Not before or during but after the auditions. So freaky right? Do u think is God? Is it a sign? A good one? Personally, i think its a gd sign cos God delayed my sore throat until after the auditions. I love You. Thank God!!!

Hihi..Everyone is very busy hor. No one blog leh except xian hao..Thank you! I realise someone has been missing or unheard on our blog and that is SHARON!!where are you? frequent vistor suddenly disappear..Hmmm..What happen ah? Busy ah? Everyone is busy but we still must eat right? Haha..went to a few new and old places in the past week but would like to intro my dad's friend western restaurant. Buddy Hoagins!! It is a small restaurant tucked away at the Basement of Bukit Timah Shopping Centre or the building beside it. Paiseh..Forgot the building name. You can get cheap and good western meals there. Their speciality would have to be Fish and chips. My parents eat that without fail whenever we dine there.

They offer student specials on weekday in the mid afternoon. Should be about 2-5pm. Free drinks with selected baked rice and rosti etc

I really like the rosti there. I normally order the chicken rosti. There are also choices of salads, cakes, sandwiches, spagetti, rosti, baked rice, grille chicken,beef and even pizzas (if never remember wrongly)
There is a wide variety of choices and it ranges from 5.90 onwards for the main course. so much cheaper than outside. With a additional of $4.50 per main course, you get a soup, drink and choce of ice cream for dessert. Yum yum.

Another yummy and affordable place to gather with friends when your budget is low and you crave western food. I give 4.5 out of 5 for the food there. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school and i went on pretty well.
Basically this two weeks are only lecture weeks so i will be free on Tuesday and Wednesday.
When the tutorial lessons starts, i won't have this kind of luxury anymore.

Yesterday i had Operations Management lecture at 12pm.
The lecturer was quite nice and his lecture was quite interesting, i manage to follow his lecture because of his clear explanation. But on the other hand, i am quite worried also.
He went through the course outline, and i realized that the topic was actually quite alien to me. Don't know anything about this topic. But i hope i will be able to make it up through my hard work.
Oh yar, i am quite apprehensive about the the term paper that we have to do also. I have never done a term paper before, wonder how it is properly done one. And the worse thing is i dunno much about the topic also. Hope that i will slowly be able to grasp the skills and knowledge of this topic and write the term paper well. Those of you who have done term paper before must give me guidance okay?? 多多指教!!!

After the 1st lecture, i have to wait for 4 hours before the next lecture starts at 6pm.
Me and my friend (lucky i found someone who is taking the same GEM as me) decided to walk around the school awhile. Went to queue for the NUS organizer also. The organizer very nice.
After that, we went to the central library. To do what??? Search for second hand txtbooks. We such through all the people selling second hand txtbooks and started mass smsing all the sellers. A lot of them were sold out le. However, i managed to find a seller. After smsing her, i realized she got a few other textbooks i wanted also, then started negoiating prices. The person say i very good at negoiating prices lor, haha, got meh?? I got 3 2nd hand textbooks for $68. Will be meeting that person on fri to take my books.

Then i went for my second lecture, Living with Mathematics. OMG, the lecturer is so boring. He sometimes is even confused over what he says lor. LOL. Then he speaks quite softly also. Must try very hard to listen to what he says. No lecture notes nothing lor. He never upload online one, then lecture that time also never give out notes. I was busy scribbling away.
At 8pm, i finally retire for the day.

Reached home so tiring, have to attend to all the emails, settle my remaining textbooks and other stuff. I didn't realize uni students get so many email one lor. Everyday when i log in to my NUS account, there will sure be something there, scary lar, like information overload like that. Hopefully i will be able to remember all the important things sia. A lot of dates n event to remember. I wonder if other students got as much email as us, or is it only Business students like that one.

Woked up today at 11am, i really sleep until very shiok yesterday night. Haha. From 1am to 11am. Quickly went online to search for remaining text.
So lucky to find one offer for one of my textbooks for $10. Thank God!!!
So happy now that i settle 4 textbooks le. The last one i think i will buy a new one.
Will sell all these new semester and then use the money to buy textbooks for next sem.

Tomorrow will be going to sing KTV with some of my OG people.
New friends!!
So happy that they love KTV also. New KTV ka-ki. Yay!!
Hopefully tml will be fun.

Orientation Week

For the past week, i have been involved in the Business 'O' Week which is the orientations for new NUS business students.

For your information, i went there alone lor, haha, so scary can.
But luckily i made a few friends down there, so must Thank God!!!

The orientation week has been quite tiring, especially must get used to waking up early in the morning. Haha.
The talks in the orientation week has also made me quite stressful.
Haven't even start lesson already so stress already.
Seriously alot of people have doubts whether we made the right choice.
The environment is really quite stressful. The people there i think are all very smart one, and the scary thing is that all these people are going to be your competitor.
A lot of Arts students also, so i seriously have doubts whether i can do well in this school since i am not so an Arts person.

Went to Sentosa yesterday for orientation, so tired can.
Now my whole body arching lor, and if u would to see me now u would be shocked to see as to how tanned i am now. Haha. My whole face very dark from all the sun and my shoulders are red. Painful lor. But okay lar, at least got chance to bond with my OG people. So still not bad.

School is offically starting new week.
Its back to studies. N i think Uni life really have to be a lot more independant. No more spoon feeding le. Bidding is quite crazy also. Realized that i actually now a lot about bidding then the others thanks to my NUS friends those who entered 2 years ago while we went to army and a few of my peers who went to do research on the system. So quite fortunate. As i did my homework in time so that i can bid successfully without panicing.
This time round i bidded for a GEM module for 150 pts. Dunno whether its cheap a not cos a lot of people got theirs for like 250 pts like that, so i guess mine should be okay ba.

I got 6 modules to take in the first semester lor. People usually take 5 only but i got to take 1 extra English module. Must Jiayou le.

The Modules to be taken are:

ACC1002: Financial Accounting
BSP1004: Legal Environment of Business (this one is Business Law)
MNO1001: Management and Organisation
DSC2006: Operations Management
NK1001: English for Academic Purposes (Business)
GEK1505: Living with Mathematics (This one is the one i bidded for 150 pts the others are all pre allocated ones)

My timetable not so nice though. Haha.
I got to go to school on all 5 days. Not as lucky as some of the other people.
And i got 2 days Monday and Thursday where i have to stay back till 8pm cos my lecture ends at that time.
But still okay lar, at least i have found some people to accompany me alr. Haha. And i do not need to wake up so early everyday cos my earliest lecture or tutorial for the whole week is at 9am.

School offically starting next week.
May the Lord give me Strength, Courage and Guidance to go through all these!!!!
Hope i can cope with all the tight schedule and quickly adopt to the NUS lifestyle.

My New Life

My new life will officially starts tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be the first day of orientation.
And yup, i am going alone.

I really do hope that i can make good friends through this orientation.
I also hope that i will be able to adapt to the university lifestyle quickly and do well in studies.
I hope i will be able to bid for the modules i want successfully.
I hope that i will be able to face all the challenges ahead with ease.

I pray that the Lord will give me guidance and be with me through this whole process. Just like what You did before.

Uni life holds a lot of uncertainties.
And i hope i will be able to quickly get used to it.
Besides studies, i really hope University life would be fun and fulfilling.
I also hope to make use of uni life to do things that i like, study and gain more knowledge on the topics that i am always interested in. And most importantly, i hope to have my own clique of friends in uni.

Hope this journey take i am about to take will be one that i will always want to have!!!

Another place to intro..visited quite a number of places last week but will leave it for some other time.And so sorry no pictures to show. Not very good at taking pictures ah.

Today's intro is Just ACIA which I visited last weekend. It is located at dohby ghaut exchange..the underground shopping area at dohby ghaut MRT station. It has another branch at suntec under the name of Just noodles.

The good thing about this shop is that you get FREE flow of drinks, cappucino and ice cream with every set. I ate the softshell crab and chicken teriyaki set. It cost only 14.90+ (no service charge, just GST) The Set includes rice, the 2 dishes, a small dish of preserved vegetables, soup and a small bowl of sauce to dip the soft shell crab. To be honest, it was not bad considering the price. The chicken teriyaki was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The downside was I notice some layers of fats attached to the skin.Other than that, it was a satisfying meal.

Sets meals are available from 5.90+(dumplings set). They serve mostly Japanese food but you may be able to find some chinese dishes available. The environment is suitable for a gathering with friends but for Just Acia, the restaurant is actually split to many parts so dun worry if it looks a bit confusing. All the free flow is fixed in one section while the kitchen and cashier area are in another and the rest of the places are use for dining.

So if anyone of you happen to be in the area and crave cheap japanese dishes. Just Acia may just be the place for you.

Haha..Hello everyone..after xian hao's yunan trip, like ogt not much things to blog hor..Thus, I suddenly had an idea to share the places of food!!That's right, a food lover like me keep eating and eating so must make myself useful and share ma..Haha..

For this post, I would like to share with you what I ate last weekend..I went to SHOKUDO 10..Yum yum..it is a very interesting concept. Too bad I did not have pictures to share. Anyway, Try not to go on a weekend evening as the crowd starts at 6.30pm and the queue is super long! I was lucky to reach there at 6pm so manage to get in really fast. We were given a reservation tag to put on our table (this is to enable us to move around without losing our seats)and 2 cards one for each to order our food..

*WARNING!Do not lose the card, 100bucks sia*

They have all sorts of japanese food. Eg Tepanyaki, jap pizza, burger sets, ramen, assorted steamed rice, tempura, desserts, rosti, soups etc cannot remember all..hehe..I went with Jun Liang so we order some dishes to share. We ordered, assorted tempura(very nice but quite ex), unagi steam rice (not so nice), cha soba(yum yum) and my favourite dish of the day is my salmon and egg rice..Super nice and the best part, it costs only 6.80++ and is super filling. Fell in love with salmon thereafter. I will go back again to try some other dishes, maybe we can even go there for one of our outings next time. (STRONGLY RECOMMENDED) Do try out the place.

The ambience good, service good, food good, overall very good!
P.S they even have some neoprints machine inside. So Kawaii!

China - Yunan Trip Part 8 (Finale)

Day 8
Today we took a 4 hour bus ride from 丽江 to our next destination which is 香格里拉.
Firstly, we went to this 草原 to ride on horses.
It was really fun, but my buttocks was so painful after the ride. And riding a horse is really not easy. Really 佩服 those people who act in those 古装, and can ride on horses so well.

After house riding, we went to this place where they sell divine stones.
Not really a believer of all these kinda stuff. My mum bought one of the stones cos she wanna 保平安 for the whole family.
She asked me to accompany her to the shifu to bless the stone.
Well, as a Christian, i really don't believe in all these stuff, but i just go along and see.
Then the shifu started using this weird look to look at me. Wah lau, so scary, i was like thinking gosh does he like know any of my darkest secrets? Then he started looking at my palm and said that one of my weakness is that i am not daring enough, don't have enough guts. Not really a risk taker in other words.
Which is like so true, cos sometimes i really wish i am daring and 潇洒 enough to do certain stuff, it might be an obstruction to success at times.
But after i return to the bus, i keep thinking and did a lot of reflections. Well, having more guts is one thing, but i guess it is also good to be careful at times.
I think moderation is the best. Being careful or daring at the right time is something i wanna achieve, not just simply being daring all the time. I think being daring all the time and not thinking about the consequences is quite stupid and irresponsible. So i would rather be careful and think through the whole process carefully. Luckily what the shifu said didnt affect me sia.
One's weakness could be another person's strength.

We checked into Shun Xin Business Hotel of the night.

Day 9
We woke up early today so that we could reach the 香格里拉 airport on time to return to 昆明 city. Domestic flight. Of to 昆明......

After we reached 昆明, we still have sometime cos our flight to Singapore is at night, so the tour guide brought us to do some sightseeing and shopping.
We went to 圆通寺. Again, though i am not a believer, but i think the temple is very nice. Inside the temple still got fish pond.

After visiting 圆通寺, we went to visit 翠湖公园. Its a park where a lot of lovers love to meet.

Oh yar, in the evening when we were having dinner. There is this craftsman at the restaurant we will cut out people's faces using just a pair of scissors. So skillful can.
This is his masterpiece of me. Haha.

We then headed back to the airport and flew back to our homeland Singapore.
Home Sweet Home. I still like my little sunny island the best. Haha.

Thoughts and Reflections:
This trip has really been an eye opener for me. Seeing other people's lifestyle and their culture. Plus the many beautiful scenery.
But as i have said, i think it is better to come with the right group of people.
I wouldn't want to share a room with my brother ever again.

My friends, i really hope we can go on to a tour together someday.
Hopefully that day will come soon.

With that, i end my China Yunan Trip report.
Next time if u go to Yunan, i recommend u go to 丽江 and 昆明.
Basically we were quite dissapointed with 香格里拉. And i wouldn't want to go back to 女儿国 again, cos the bus ride is damn tiring.
丽江 and 昆明 is the best places in Yunan. Places that u must visit there include, 玉龙雪山, 石林, 九乡 and 丽江古城. Performance u must watch include 云南映像 (the peacock dance) and 印象丽江 directed by 张艺谋.

China - Yunan Trip Part 7

Day 7
Today its the 7 hour bus trip back the same long and windy and scary road back to 丽江.
With today's 7 hour bus ride plus yesterday's 7 hour, its 14 hours altogether. I already got the phobia of taking bus.

Along the way, we stopped to rest and saw all these small children.
Some of the aunties in our tour group decided to give them some sweets.
They were like so happy to receive the sweets, and see from their expression and smiles. So easily satisfied and content.
I guess life is really simple for them and they do not even have the luxury of having sweets. I was so touched by their purest and innocence, these qualities are rarely seen on children of big cities these days. So touched that after the bus left that place, i was still thinking of them and my eyes were a bit watery.

Okay after 7 hours of really gruesome ride.
We reached 丽江.
Today the road is quite chaotic because they are preparing for the Olympics Touch arrival the next day. And the city is doing its last minute preparation.

Oh yar, and halfway through all these. It started raining.
Not water droplets, like ur usual rain. But solid ICE. Its 冰雨.

You see those white colour stuff on the ground?
Its actually ICE that dropped from the sky!!!!

Wah, so amazing, first time see this kinda thing. Haha.
Okay, nothing besides all these nothing really much happened. We were all so tired from the long hour bus ride.

棒棒堂二军

My favourite band 棒棒堂 is so popular now.
So happy for them.

And because of their success, 棒棒堂 is now doing a second generation.
First generation is Lollipop 棒棒堂.
Who will make up the second generation?

These guys are now fighting for a position in the second generation of 棒棒堂.
The 10 guys are split into two groups, 公主帮 and 宅男墅.
Both groups released an EP recently and the interesting thing is that both groups sang the exact same song in these EP. Who do u support?

I personally support 公主帮. Ever since they started splitting into this group i already support them le. I like the people in 公主帮 more. Plus their version of 冒险世界 is so much nicer.

China - Yunan Trip Part 6

Day 6
Today is a really tiring day for all of us.
Its a 7 hour bus ride to 泸沽湖 aka 女儿国.
All the roads look like these.........

Shocking right??
And im telling the truth. That is the kind of road that we travelled on during these 7 hours.
Its really a long and windy road.
The twist and turns are very scary and dangerous also.
Imagine travelling on these kinda road for 7 hours. I can die.

Thats why i am so happy today when i receive sms from my friends today.
They decided to try sending out messages to me to see if i can receive their message. N i did. So happy.

Halfway down the road. We stopped to take pictures of these beautiful scenes.

After the 7 hours of long and winding ride, we reached out 1st destination in 女儿国.
We are supposed to go to an island on boat.
So cool right!!!

And these boats are rowed by man. Like this.....

This guy that rowed our boats look very young lor. Like our age like that.
Think thats their way of lifestyle ba. Rowing a boat with about 10 people on it by himself for about 30 minutes is really not a thing that anyone can do.

And the water is so damn clear.

I have never seen any waters so clear before. Its really beautiful!!!

After 30 minutes we finally reached the island and we went sightseeing on the island.

After that, we rowed back again. To check in our hotel.
女儿国大酒店.

I must say. This hotel is really lousy.
The service is really bad. Half of the time, no one is even at the counter. Plus the food is terrible also. Then when we were resting, the hotel suddenly black out!!!

I guess though 女儿国 is a beautiful country but if u want me to stay here longer, i would have gone crazy.

After settling down, the tour guide bring us to a traditional household to understand their way of lifestyle.

Their marriage system is very complicated one. Their marriage is no need to register by law like one. Its so complicated that i shan't talk about it here. But i guess even some Westerners who come here will also be really shocked by their system.

Then we went to watch this really boring show. Haha. Music and dance that kind.
So boring. Then very jialat one lor, halfway through the show, suddenly black out. Wah. First time i see shows like that one lor. Haha.

But luckily got this cute little young boy who sat beside me. His brother was performing. Throughout the whole show, i just talk to him lor. Haha. So fun.
And he literally knows all the dance step lor. And even noes what happens next.
I am also touched by his aspiration also. He says he wants to earn lots of money so that his family members will have a good life.
I asked him if i can take a photo of him. He agreed and even do pose for me lor. Haha.

Because the place so dark. Thats why cannot take a gd picture. Pity. But he is really cute. If not for him, i would have fallen asleep during the performance. Haha.

China - Yunan Trip Part 5

Day 5
Before you guys forgot, here is a recap.
By the end of Day 4, we have already entered a new place called 丽江.

丽江 is famous for its snow mountains. All year round, the mountain peaks will be covered with snow, regardless of the weather or season.
This mountain is called 玉龙雪山.
For your information, this mountain although not as high as the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, NO ONE has ever climbed this mountain and reached its peak before. There have been lots of attempts to conquer the mountain, but all of them end up as failure attempts. So till this day, 玉龙雪山 is still a "virgin" mountain.

Today, we set of to take a look at 玉龙雪山. If you ever come to 丽江, 玉龙雪山 is a place where you must come and visit.

After we reached the destination.
The first part is to take these buses for the first part of the journey.

2nd part, we have to do some hiking. And while hiking, we saw these cows, They were like so close to us lor. Haha.

After that, we went on to see other attractions there.

Down here, you can actually ride these cows up the 梯田. Though it looks quite cute, but these cows are really too smelly. Haha. That's why i dun dare to ride on them.

All of us were simply so excited when we finally saw these.
The 玉龙雪山 showing its snow peaks. All of us "Chiong" to take pictures.
Really really beautiful.

Then after we had lunch, we headed down to a special place to watch an open aired live performance directed by the very famous 张艺谋. The show is called 印象丽江. Just look at the set. Very special.
The set uses the 玉龙雪山 as the back ground. A performance that is close to nature.

Halfway through the show, the snow peak showed itself again.
We are so lucky!!!

I managed to video down one part of the show. Enjoy!!!!

After the show, while going to our next destination, we saw so many people gathering around the side of the road. Well the Olympics Touch happens to arrive a few days later so these people are gathering around for rehearsals.
And we, the tourist from Singapore of cos grabbed this opportunity to take pictures.

Our next destination for the day is 丽江古城.
Wah this place is really quite happening, i must say.

Very pretty place right? Well i happen to see this halfway through my trip.

These weird characters are actually their languages.
Sort of ancient language like that.
The amazing thing is that it is still in use till this day.

丽江古城 is its day and night time is really completely different.
Here is 丽江古城 at night....

And there lots of pubs and bars are opened here at night.
So its literally the Zouk or Mohammed Sultan of 丽江.

I happened to see this small little girl dancing to the music that is playing. I find it so cute!!!
So decided to video it down. Haha.

So cute right? She is like totally not shy lor. And dun care what other people think, she just want to dance. I guess she will be a good dancer in the future.

Thoughts and Reflections:
The clouds, the mountains and the snow peaks feels so totally unreal. As if it came out from a Chinese Painting.
At some point of time, i felt that i am in Heaven. But i guess Heaven is even more amazing, more beautiful and more spectacular than what i saw.
It sort of lighten up my moody spirits.

China - Yunan Trip Part 4

Day 4
1st stop, we headed down to 大理古城 to do some shopping.
The place is really pretty.
Once again, it really feels that i am part of a 古装 show (you know those kind where they roam around the cities and those 古装 loves buying 冰糖葫芦 that kind). Accept that the people here all not wearing 古装. Haha.
This is the outside of 大理古城.....

The inside of the city looks like this......

Walking around 大理古城 and doing some shopping lightens up my mood a little. The things here are also very pretty.

大理 is a place where 白族 people live. 白族 is a minority group in China, sort of similar to Taiwan's 原主民 that kind.
After 大理古城 we went to a traditional 白族 housing to learn more about their lifestyle.

This wall is very special right. Its got its usage too u know. It is used to reflect the very strong sunlight (Yunan's sunlight is really strong, the UV rays are especially here to do their high altitude). It is also used to block wind!!! Amazing right?

We also watch some dance performances here, view their wedding processes and take a sip at their tea.

Next venue is 天龙洞.
Let me do an introduction 1st on this place. This place is really from a 古装 show. Heard of 天龙八部? Well, this show is being filmed here.
Really pretty place. But u must be fit to finish the whole journey. The walking and climbing of stairs can be quite tiring for those with weak legs.

After lots of stairs climbing, we finally reach the top!!!
The view is spectacular.

After that, we traveled 4 hours on bus to another city, 丽江 and checked into the hotel that i think is the best out of all the hotels we went to.
实力大酒店. Good service and their breakfast buffet is great!!!!

Thoughts and Reflections:
You know, in such a remote place like Yunan, i am quite amazed to hear Singaporean singer's song. I heard 林俊杰, 孙燕姿 and even 郭美美's song.
When the restaurant served us Sprit, 林俊杰's picture is printed on it wor. We must be really proud of our singers, really. Even these people in remote Yunan are giving them support, we Singaporean should all the more support our own singers.

Haiz. Dunno why. I just feel very lonely down here.
Every single one of them is having fun and playing happily but 我就是开心不起来.
Yes, the place is very nice, food is okay. The local attractions are great too. But i guess i just came here with the wrong people.
So lonely. Unbearable.
Decided to stay quiet today but not to the extent that people will think that there is sometime wrong with me. I guess that is one of the things that i will have to deal with being single. It actually reminded me of one episode in "Sex and The City". The single versus the attached/married.
Should i still hold my head up and be proud of my singlehood while all others around me are attached?
Arrgh can't stand this.

China - Yunan Trip Part 3

Day 3
Today we headed off to 云南农业大学, quite surprised lor, cos there is actually something like a 农业大学. The stuff they study here are all related to agricultural stuff.
Well, the main purpose we came here is to look at the tea they have here. So we went to the 云南农业大学茶学系, where the students there explained to us the benefits of drinking tea and introduce to us the various types of tea they have here. Some of the tea here is really high quality one. My family really bought a lot of tea. They bought like 1400RMB worth of tea including 普洱茶, 七叶胆 and 三七花.

After that we have some spare time so we went back to Kuming City to do some shopping. And i must say the service here is really bad. We should be glad the service here is of some standard. I initially saw a pair of shoes that i like and they have the exactly same size i want (cos its on display, but only one shoe is on display). Then i asked the sales person if he have the other shoe cos i want to buy, very 夸张 lar, you know what he say? He say must what till afternoon for the storeroom to be opened but after that i am gone le lor. How to buy? Then in the first place why bother to display the shoe if u dun have the shoes? Then he didn't even bother to like go help me ask or something, just say dun have and like walk off. When i ask him i want size 7, he like dunno what i am talking like that. Hello, like that how to sell things to customer. Very Jialat one lar.
Roaming down Kuming City, is a very scary thing also. In fact, i guess for the whole of Yunan, crossing the street is a really scary thing. They dun really follow the traffic rules. You can like literally hear a car horn every few seconds. Very stressful walking down their streets.

After shopping and tea appreciation, we went back to our bus and its a 5 hour bus trip to 大理. The bus trip is really tiring, heard that there will be a 7 hour bus ride in the next few days. *Faints*

We then rested at a 5 star hotel at 大理凤凰温泉度假酒店.

There is actually 温泉 in the bathroom of the hotel. First time 泡温泉, its so relaxing!!! So shiok!!!

Thats pretty much Day 3, not much pictures taken today cos nothing much happens, its just travelling and shopping.

Things are getting really a bit boring here. It would have been so much fun if i am here with my friends instead.

Wow.. So xian mu Xian Hao. All the scenery are so nice! So beautiful! The air there must be very fresh right? Hehe..

Finally..I quit my job.
A lot of things happening.
There is a major reason why i quit this job............

Before my first day of work, i called the person-in-charge(called Aar__).
He told me that my pay is $6 per hour WITH commission.
2weeks later de Monday.
I heard from a colleague that the pay has been changed to $5 per hour with commission! I was shock to hear that!

That Aar__ explained to me that before they employed people, they had a meeting.
During the meeting, they mentioned that on one want to work. Thus, they decided to increase the pay from $5/hour to $6/hour with commission.(But not with the approval of HR department)
They go ahead to hire people while sending in their new proposal of the pay. Then..HR department didnt approved!!!
I scolded him:"In the first place, why did you hire people when you havent get any approval from HR?" Angry lo!! So yuan lai its his and his manager's fault.
And he tried to get through the whole thing by anyhow explaining to us the first time. I was very angry lo! I say:" Its unfair to me you know! I feel cheated! How am i in future going to introduce my friends to work here? Because its $6/hour then i accepted to work! Now what? You suddenly decrease my pay by $1 for no reason. Its sooooooo unfair to me lo!!!"(The $5/hour will start from the first day of work! Not from the day he told me!!!)

Then he said he will compensate me by adding extra 2hours for the month of June. (For May they cant do anything as they have submitted the time sheet to HR). I said ok lo. Better than nothing.

RUBBISH guy! I dont even believe whatever he says. As long as he pays me. If not....

The moral of this story is.... Get them to write in black and white about your pay etc. before you start work. OR else...End up like me.

China - Yunan Trip Part 2

Day 2
Well, for today, we 1st went to a famous Chinese Medicine Outlet called 宝树堂.
The lecturer who welcomed us introduced us to all the Chinese medicine they have and their usage. Wah, really amazed by what some of these medicine can do.
Talk about the wonders of Chinese medicine.

After that we headed of to another of Kuming's tourist attraction called 九乡.

Its a place of natural landscape. And must importantly, natural waterfall!!!
We 1st reach this place where we have to travel by boats.
The scenery is so beautiful. Water, rocks and greenery.

These are the things we saw while traveling on this little boat.

Though the water like brown brown like that due to pollution, it was still a very nice ride.
The air is very cool and refreshing also.

After that, we got out of the boat and we saw waterfall.
Mini size one.

九乡 happens to be a place made up of caves.

I bet they filmed television drama shows or movies here before. Cos i felt like i am in a drama serial or a movie.

A big hole. Its the home of a lot of swallows. Saw a lot of them flying around. But they really fly too fast, cannot get a proper photo of them.

We then enter a 2nd cave. And these are what we saw.

After that we walked into this special place.

These are all Natural!!!!! Mind you!!! Amazing right. Even those 梯田 you see outside are all man-made, but these are all natural. I was like so shocked when i heard its natural.

We are approaching the end of the cave. And these rocks there are really beautiful.

Then some of them who cannot walk anymore sat on a saddle. Like this.

These are all pulled and carried by Man.
Very tiring i know.
And some of them keep saying that it is very tiring and they very 辛苦 like that.
Yar i noe, but i dun think you should say it out loud lor, it only makes them feel bad. I think you should just keep quiet, enjoy the ride and maybe gave them more tips after the ride lor.

After that we took a cable car ride down 九乡.

After visiting 九乡 we went to check in to another hotel.
The Yunan King World International Hotel.

After checking in and having dinner, we prepared ourselves for a performance called "云南映象".
It is a tribal performance featuring lots of tribal dances and their culture.
A very passionate and exotic show. Their drums and instruments they played really special.
This show is directed by a famous dancer down there called 杨丽萍 but its a pity she didn't perform that night.
But i was still very impressed with the performances like the Moonlight dance and Peacock dance by 杨伍. She danced so gracefully and her performance is superb lar. Her hands and body is like so flexible. Too bad i can't take any photos cos they don't allow photo taking there.

Reflections and Thoughts:
I wish you guys were here, so i can openly express my thoughts, amazement and comment openly. Felt that some people don't really appreciate this really professional dance.
My mum wanted to go to the toilet in the middle of the show but she was scared that she will blocked people's view when she pass by their seats. To my horror, my brother actually encouraged her to go lor. Its like wah lau. So unprofessional.

Well, some of the people from my tour group thinks my brother and I are Twins lor. Im like Ewww!!! We got look so alike meh.
He is so skinny like bamboo lor. And his face so full of Pimples, where got alike.
Are those people blind?
Our dressing style different, our looks different.
Our character is even more different.

A lot of people say i am the younger of the two lor. Wah lau.
They shocked when they knew i am the elder one.
Even more shocked when they knew our age difference is 3 years.
They say i got baby face. Ask me what i do to look so young. Got meh?'

Talking about my brother,
Living in the same room with him is really a torture.
Our relationship really getting worse and worse.
I don't understand him most of the time and he don't respect me. So rude lor he.
Seriously, I would rather stay in a room myself.
He speaks in this rude and 没大没小 manner that just pisses you off or makes you angry upon hearing the tone. We seriously can't communicate lar. Arrgh!!!!

We are like Mars and Venus.
We can barely stand the sight of each other.
Twins???!!!
The thought of it makes my wanna puke!!!!

Thats End of Day 2. How i miss my friends!!!

China - Yunan Trip Part 1

Hey people, u guys must be dying to know about my experience overseas at Yunan, China right?
Well, over these 9 days overseas, i have been penning down my thoughts and busy taking photos so i will be blogging about my trip journal style and here goes....

Day 1
I just got ready for my trip for my trip to Yunan, China. I will also be taking my first everplane flight. Will be going there by China Eastern Airlines.
My feelings,
Excited? Not really cos i am not going to a place that i really want to go. Just really hoping that there is a good place to do shopping.
Scared? Abit lar. Cos dunno how the flight is like. How are those people going on the same tour group as us going to be like. Issit all Aunties and Uncles or what. Also scared never bring anything. And plus dunno what to expect there and whether i will be able to adapt there.
Just finished styling my hair, packed my last item and zipped up my luggage and i am ready to head of to Changi Airport.

We took a Maxi cab to the Airport. Those big eight seater kind like this

It was quite a pleasant ride.

The China Eastern Airline airplane is really not that nice.
My mum said it is almost like a budget airline. A far cry from our Singapore Airlines. So hoping that i will be able to sit on a Singapore Airline plane soon.

See the space is so small and limited.
Barely had any space for my legs although they are not that long.
I think those tall people sit sure very jialat one.
And there is not TV also. Lousy.
So the whole 4 hour journey is very sian lor.
Nothing to do but sleep.

After 4 hours of airplane ride (so tiring), we finally reached Kuming International Airport.
For those we dunno, Kuming is in Yunan. Just like Changi is in Singapore like that.

As i stepped out of the aircraft, i found that the weather here is quite cooling. Like natural air conditional. We then met our tour guide and she brought us to a restaurant for breakfast.
Along the road, i really amazed by the difference between the road in Yunan and Singapore.
There a lot of bicycles along the road and i mean a lot.

Some of them drive very dangerously. Scary one lor.
Lucky our driver is good.

After breakfast, we met our camera man.
He is quite young, 25 like that, around the same age as our tour guide.
And he gave all of us roses.
Haha.
1st time in my life, someone gave me flowers.
I didn't receive any flowers before, not even Valentine's Day and what nots. Haha.

Then we travelled for 2 hours plus to check in to our hotel.
The Shilin Conference Center Hotel.

We rested for awhile then headed down to our first attraction.
石林. 石 as in 石头 and 林 as in 森林.
So its a rock forest.

And the amazing thing is that the rocks in this place are all natural rocks. Not man made.
There is so much rocks here as this place was initially submerged under water but to a volcano eruption many many years ago, and many other natural factors, the water has disappeared and the land has rise. And all these rocks are those rocks that are laid under the sea. Really 天造奇迹.

The top portion of this piece of rock is suppose to be an eagle with a broken wing.

天下弟一奇迹, this are the words craved on this stone. Did u notice a word that is written wrongly?
Ans: The 弟 should be written as 第.
Well, it was written as 天下弟一奇迹 because they wanna be humble. So they call themselves the younger brother. Got it?

Very beautiful right? Notice the piece of rock that has 剑锋 written on it.
Well, it was supposed to look like a sword. But years ago, an earthquake occurred here many years ago and the top part of the sword was broken due to the earthquake leaving the bottom portion.
So u can see how, natural all these rocks are. Not touched by man, and not fixed by man even when they are damaged by earthquakes.

This piece of rock is like rotten and about to fall off like that right?
Well, this is called 良心石, it was said that if someone evil were to pass by this piece of rock. The rock will tumble and fall onto that person.

Looks like a piece of tooth right?
It was said that if u touch this piece of "tooth", all ur gum and tooth diseases will be cured!!

Reflection & Thoughts:
Our tour group consists of people above the age of 40 years old other than my brother and me.
All uncles and aunties.
So boring.
I can't be myself while traveling. Cannot do those things and say those things that i normally do with my friends. Have to act and fake. So difficult. Machiam traveling alone. Sian lor.

Hi my Dear Beloved 5sis3~~~

Feel so tired. I just started working this week Monday(26/05/08) at Paragon.

~~Selling watches.

Well, i dont really like it because i have to stand there for 8-10hours which make my legs very very tired. And its 6day work week!! So now i am really tired though today is my OFF day.

But the good thing is got commission which makes me keep working on. Actually, i wanted to quit on the 1st day. But i thought if i work 1 day only, i will not get my pay. So after a long long thought, decided to stay. Hope i have the energy to carry on for 1month.

So got outing i cant make it. Its ok..never mind, you all guys enjoy ba! =)) Will catch up with u all after my "holidays".

Haha...got time come visit me ar. and buy watch.(jkjk) =X

Okay, hi guys.
Long time never update here le. And i think Char is getting worried that something bad has happened to me cos of my depressing last post.
Haha.

Aniway i m fine now, just that my life has been quite boring and slack so nothing much to write about.

What have i been doing these days now that i am jobless??

Reading lor. Have a lot of readings to catch up on. I finally finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yesterday. Den still only halfway through "The World is Flat", i bought this book like last year lor, i still only halfway, jialat. Then now starting on a new book my friend gave me on my birthday called, "Keeping Faith" by a famous writer cos Jodi Picoult. Quite a nice read.
And of cos also reading my regular dose of TIME, I-Weekly and my recent obsession, CLEO mag. Haha.

Then still busy catching drama lor.
I just finished 斗牛要不要 and Heroes Season 2. Both very nice shows.
If u saw my msn nick u will also know that i am watching 少年杨家将, Korean Show 太王四神记, 恶作剧2吻 and Sex and the City.
If u guys dunno, u can actually catch this fantastic shows, like 少年杨家将 and 太王四神记 on TV already.
少年杨家将 is airing on Channel 8 every Sunday from 10.30pm to 12.30am.
太王四神记 is airing on Channel U every Saturday and Sunday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
I would greatly recommend u guys to watch these shows, esp 太王四神记, cos i personally think the story very nice (many feel that it is like the 'pirated' version of the Bible). And the visual effects s like damn good lar, its like the standard of Lord of the Rings lor.
And i started watching Sex and the City, starting from the very 1st season. Very funny show. Humorous but in a very classy, sexy and stylish way. Haha.

And i also studying my advanced theory lor, wah lau, so difficult lar.
I was like lucky i learning auto, the brake clutch and accelerator pedal must coordinate until like damn well lar, i always thought u stop a vehicle just brake can liao. No lor, got many steps one lor. If u just press the brake the wheels will skid or dunno what shit lar. The brakes also got different type one, dunno what engine brake (or was it emergency brake?), parking brake lar, hand brake lar. Yada yada, and must memorize all that for the test lor, piang, dun diffcult lor, i think. Die liao lar. Haha.

Yar lor, this is what i am up to recently.
And not forgetting, going shopping, KBox or just hanging out with my frens.
Plus preparing for my Yunan Trip, hope will have a nice trip and our mood will not be affected by the Earthquake that happened. Heard the place we are going quite close to the Earthquake site.
And yes Jiayan, I want to go KBox when we come back huh.
Haha. So long never see u all liao.

Oh, i haven't rant about American Idol. Arrgh so angry lar.
During the final performance, David Arculeta did so well as compared to David Cook lar.
I tot that Little David confirm win one lor.
Then the Ryan Seacrest, announce the winner, "It is David..............Cook"
My jaws literally dropped lar. So unexpected and i think this David Cook actually won by quite a lot leh. Dunno why like tat. Even from the judges comment u can tell that they like Little David better. Haiz. Quite sian that day. Haha.

Haiz, lots have happen over this past few days ba.
Its been a really emotional week for me.

Well, don't wish to go into details now.
But the thing is, i have left Starhub.
Now, jobless le.

This Blog is like offically dead, no one seems to be posting any thing leh. Not even a tag. Haha.
Well anyway i promised some of u that i will post the pictures we took on Jun Liang's Bdae. So here they are!!!

On 2nd of May, we went to Jun Liang's Birthday party and here are the photos we have taken.

Firstly before the whole party starts, Jiayan and Janet pass me the present that they went to change.
I tell u, i went home and try it on, it fits perfectly and the design is nice. Thanks guys.
So we did a ceremony with photo's taken. Haha. Machiam receiving award like that.

Then after that the party starts and we were busy eating and eating.
All home cooked food lor. Wah.
The Sushi they made also very nice (i think Charlene got help out also). I keep grabbing the sushi everytime i pass by them cos so nice!!
The birthday cake is nice also. Its like brownies like that, the cake. Nice. Yummy. I think baked by Jun Liang. But only thing is the coffee part covered the whole chocolatey taste. Thats why i eat the brownies part separately. Haha.

I had fun eating, chatting and playing Taboo!!! Haha.

Chin Lam and Hairi seems to have lost some weight. But James is still the same old James we knew. Haha.

The Charlene kept complaining that she never take pictures with Jun Liang before.
So we made her wish come true.

Hopefully it will be soon.

Hi all,
Thank you Jiayan, Janet, Jun Liang and Charlene for coming to my birthday party.
And thank you all for all the presents u guys gave.
These are all the presents i received.
Never received so much presents in my whole life.

Thanks all. Love ALL the presents!!!!

U guys really po fei le.
Love earphone Jun Liang gave me. Really stylish. N Charlene's NUM slippers which u share with ter they all. And paiseh to Janet and Jiayan. Coz u guys have to go n change my gift. Apparently, they bought a long sleeve shirt and i got the exact same design, the brand also the same. Haiz, so sorrie to trouble u all. Can't believe so coincidental. I think we all have gd taste. Haha.
Janet hope u like ur bag me and char bought!!!

Only got one small 遗憾. All the pictures we took during the cake cutting sessions all gone. Coz the memory card spolit. Haiz. Shld haf used my phone instead. Haha.

But really 感动 when everyone started singing. The voice is so loud and clear and the birthday song is so nice. All ur singings add together really soothing and makes me very 感动.
Coz Everytime im the one singing, now is u guys sing to me. I like it!!! Haha.

Birthday wishes: Hmm i only made a quick one when cutting cake cos not enough time. So after settling down i decide to make my brithday wishes.

1) I wish that i will EXCEL in uni. Able to adapt to university lifestyle. Find friends and ACE all the exams. Do well in school. Hopefully as well as i did in PJ.

2) I wish that all my dearest friends and family members will be really healthy and hope they stay Happy and will always be by my side.

3) Secret. This wish i will keep to myself. Hopefully this one will cone true too.

Lastly,
I like to Thank God!!!!
He performed a miracle again.
During work yest, i was told that i had the lowest productivity rate for the month. I haven't hit target and since its the last day of the month, it will be a miracle if i push up my stats to the required percentage.
Really scary!! I kept praying and praying.
But this morning. I received news that i actually hit the target. Thank God!! Amen to that!!!

Thank God for everything today also.
I felt really blessed. Very busy and tired but also very happy at the same time.
Wish to do this more often!!!!

My Weekend Off Day

Today was my weekend off day (really rare, once in a month kind). And its a crazy day for me!!!

I woke up early in the morning at around 7 plus (on my off day somemore, haha) to prepare to go down to the driving centre to take my basic theory test.
Was quite nervous cos didn't really like study for it. And kept on praying and asking God to help me.
Then it was finally the test le, went in and started doing all the questions and after finishing all i found out that i got about 5 to 6 unsure questions. Very dangerous.
For those of u who dunno in driving theory tests, you can only afford to answer 5 questions out of 50 wrongly anything more than that and u fail.
Thats why i checked through the whole thing twice and even decided to change one of the answers.
Keep praying and praying and finally after a long time sitting and stoning there. I click the end test button. The screen load and load and the result......

Yeah i passed!!! Those who got license le might say chey just basic theory mar, haha. But really happy cos i finally got it after so long.
Next stage..... Advance theory, must jiayou hopefully can get it within this year.
And i havent applied for a PDL cos i don't think i will have so much time to complete and get my license this year so pass advance le then apply PDL.
As i was telling my friend, this is like joining American Idol or something. Haha. Now got in the 1st round, next round must jiayou le.

After that headed down to orchard road with my friends for shopping spree. Look at the amount of stuff i bought!!!

A lot hor. Haha. But very happy.

Spent almost a hundred bucks but still okay lar cos mainly is buy presents for others. Haha.

All 5sis3 members how have u been?
I believe all of u are busy revising and studying for ur upcoming exams right?
Wish u guys all the best.

Well, on the 1st of May, a public holiday and my birthday.
I am having a small buffet at my house to celebrate my 21st birthday and all of u guys are invited!!!
It will most probably be in the afternoon to facilitate those who are having exams the next day and can't stay until very late. Pls do come down, it will just be a simple eating and chatting session.
I really hope all can come down even though u might have exams the next day cos 21st birthday is once in a life time thingy and i really wanna thank those who agreed the day i sent out the sms invitations (i believed all u guys have gotten it). Thanks for being so 爽快.

Right now in our clique only Charlene and Jiayan confirm going.

My list right now is less than 10 people. Hope it will reach about 20 soon. Haha. Dun wanna have a party when so few people come. Sick

I am sick!!!
Fever!! Headaches. I dunno whats the reason.
But my temperature reached up to 38.5 degrees this morning is was still like that.
But just now i took my temperatures again. 37.6 degrees. I hope its a sign that i am recovering.
Dunno whether i should take MC tml.

Aniway here are all the pictures that i took when we met up for Sharon's 21st birthday.
Long time never see Victorian le, and like usual we had a great chat.

Arrr!!! I hate marketing project!!! And some of my project group members.

Today we are having as usual our project meeting after our morning lessons. My group consists of 5 members: Dhinah, Harvin, Germaine, Sharon Ng and me. Germaine on this week Tuesday has already told us she need to go cpf building. Ok... that one i understand. Then yesterday, Dhinah sent out a sms to remind everyone of the project meeting today. All of us replied ok. (except germ).

Come today, Sharon didnt come school!!! After our lessons, we thought she will come, but she sms us say she got something on!! Its NOT the first time they are like that lo. Ok, i know they 2 are very busy, but school work important or work or personal stuff important?? In the first place, it was them who said that we will have our project meeting on Thursday. But its ALSO them come every thursday last minute say something on or sick!! It has been more than ONE MONTH already! The rest 3 of us tried to talk to them and discuss when we can meet. But its still Thursday and again and again they 2 always cant make it. (Only one or two meetings they can make it, sometimes we even have to cancel and meet next week)

Dhinah today was like very angry. Ya...the past one month i also was very angry!! Dhinah, now you know how i feel that time already right? Dhinah NEARLY wanted to sms Sharon:" Do you want to fail?" You see, people have limit one. One or two time they cannot make it never mind. But its has been MORE THAN ONE MONTH! And its always in the end, no choice we 3 have to meet to do the project. Our project are really really behind time le. Next month haave to hand in le. And we haven even done half of the report yet!!

I really dont understand lo. So are the 2 of them concern about their school work? ( They dont attend that often one. One whole week they can dont attend lessons) Do they really want to fail?? If one day, i really cant withstand it, i am going flare up and scold them. If they are not interested in studying, please quit the course!

Someone please advise me what should i do???

Hey guys!!!
Sorrie for neglecting this blog for so long.
If you guys have been constantly looking at my other blog, you would have known that i am have been constantly updating over there.
Especially busy with my Entertainment News Column
(haha, do some advertisement over here)
So i have not completely vanished from the blogging world. So here and there, if you guys suddenly feel like aye why Xian Hao never blog huh. Can go and visit Zhui Xing blog to see whether i got update new stuff.

Well, i was sitting at the back of 190 going home from work when this happens:

As you can see, it looks like an empty bus right?
But look closely to the front of the bus and you can see a lot of people packed like sardines.
Haiz. Why cant people be more considerate and move to the rear of the bus so that everyone can board the bus? Very jialat one lor.

Alright, well, at work, starting to get used to it le. And started to talk to a few of them, Thank God.
And i got my pay, finally!!!
Can go buy new fashionable clothes le.

I realise Kbox now very expensive and service is very bad.
I officially announced that i am switching to Party World now. Better price and Better service. The song choice there is also a lot.
But can't sing overtime cos the system will automatically shut down once time is up. Haha.
So Party World anyone?
I wanna go shopping too!!

Loner

I dunno whats wrong wif me.
I don't want to be loner. I find myself being so lonely lately.
I haven't been able to forge good relationships with my colleagues even up till now. Right now, i am still going lunch breaks on my own. And i basically just do my own things and shut up most of the time.

Today, i was sitting in a corner alone and then doing work. Then one of my colleagues came and ask me to sit closer to them. I was happy at 1st, cos i felt like they actually bothered about me. But dunno why when i sit with them, i feel even more lonely lor.
Worse still, i think i sort of find out that they have been saying things behind my back. Dunno what kinda stuff lar. I think a few of the dealers were also bitching about me to my colleagues lor. Aiyah also dunno i too sensitive or what. But my "radar" for this kinda thing usually quite accurate one.

Today was like totally crazy lor, keep on answering calls and the calls keep coming. Worse is some of these calls actually lasted as long as 20 minutes lor. Wah lau, my throat is just about to recover wor, but i think at this rate, i will continue to sound like "ah du".

Haiz, i dun like it leh. Why am i stuck in this situation? What am i doing this for?
Is it like that becos they were already very close when i got here?
Or was it becos i close up to them?
Haiz.

For those of you who have friends at school or at work to accompany you everyday.
I just think you are simply really lucky.

CNY dinner

Yesterday, 15th feb 2008, we had our yearly CNY dinner.
Everyone in 5sis3 turns up except Jia Yan. Jun Liang, Ding Wei, Jon Oh and his friend also join us.
Well, i got a nice surprise. Jon Oh's friend actually turn out to be my primary school classmate! Oh my! It has been like 8years since we ever met! Last year, i found one of my pri sch classmate in my present Uni class and this year during cny dinner. Cool! Haha..

We ate at Guilin Restaurant @ CDANS country club. The menu was very "beautiful". Haha..i mean the prices la.
The set meal cheapest for 11 paxs is $368 with Yu Sheng.
In the end, we decided to order ala carte.
There are 8 dishes.
1. Yu Sheng
2. Thai Chicken
3. Brocoli with mushroom
4. Osyter Omelete
5. Deer meat
6. Tofu
7. Prawns
8. Yam Basket

Total cost of this meal is $263.55.
Well, the food was nice but cos need to eat until very shi wen. So didnt ate much.
Hehe.. High class restaurant lei. Hehe..

And after the meal, i got another surprise too! It was birthday cake which Charlene and Xian Hao (thankz Xian Hao) bought. Haha.. Really thankz a lot!
The restaurant played the birthday song and everyone sang birthday song. *touched* Hehe...

Received presents from Serene, Charlene and 2 from Sharon.
Serene made me a clay angel.
Charlene gave me a Pierre Cardin Wallet.
And Sharon gave me a perfume from Body Shop and a beautiful dress.
Thankz Serene, Charlene and Sharon! I really love all your presents!!

I really enjoyed this year CNY dinner. Thankz everyone!! =))

Look at all these people queuing up to buy 4D and Toto. Guess all of them hope to strike 4D and Toto during this Chinese New Year period.

Speaking of which,
Chinese New Year just seem to pass by so quickly.
I was so having fun.
But i guess time passes by quickly when u are having fun ba.
Barely had time to rest during the CNY holidays.
Going around bai nian.
Watching all the 3 Chinese movies.
Going for gathering.
Arrgh!!! Barely had time to breathe.
I guess maybe thats why now i am having this sore throat.
Result of not enough rest, too much heaty food (blame all the CNY goodies which i seriously didnt eat much) and most importantly talking the whole day on the phone when its back to work.

Today is like so unbearable lor the pain.
Sore throat then still have to force myself to answer all the calls at work. So pain can.
I ate 3 Strepsils, drank a bottle of herbal tea and drank dunno how much water still no use. Arrgh!!!

Besides being sick today, another unbearable thing today is that it is Valentine's Day.
Arrgh!!
I noe i keep saying that i wanna be single, it is better this way.
But Valentine's Day is the worse day to be single.
I was walking around during my lunch break today (Yes!!! Lunch alone again!)
Then couples here couples there.
Some even got flowers lor.
Dunno whether envious of them or jealous.
On top of that i am alone on this day. Don't even have frens to go out with me, makes the whole being single on Valentine's Day worse!!!!

Plus a lot of my frens are all attached le.
Makes my wonder: Will i be left alone or left behind when all of my friends get attached? I really don't want that to happen.

P.S: Hope i will recover in time for tml's gathering. And hope i can pass the evaluation test tml.

Life without a Computer/Laptop

Hey hey guys.
I am back to the computer's world.
Life is so miserable without the computer and internet.
Virus attack. Hate it.
In the end have to go and send to for repair at $50.
Hope the money spent is worth it. Hope this computer don't like that again. If not i will be damn sian.

So u might wonder what is life like without a job and without internet. Utterly boring.
Haha.
No youtubing. No 棒棒堂 for me. No coffee prince (i left last episode). No 公主小妹. No Ugly Betty.
No facebook, no friendster.
No Email.
No Blogging. No Zhui Xing E News.

So without anithing to do, i can only catch up with my reading which i realized still have a lot.
Haha.
But i tell, i can play with my computer for the whole day and have my eyes stuck to the screen but my eyes will be so tired after i read for awhile.
Conclusion: I cant read books and magazines for the whole day.
Thus, i decided to go and rent vcds.
These are the movies that i rented.

Transformers is quite a nice movie.
Visual effects and sounds all quite nicely done.
And the stories also not bad. I dont really like Transformers as a child cos i think cars transform into robots is like so lame lor. But a lot of people and critics says it is not bad. So decided to give it a try.
Well, it really is not bad.
Plus plus plus, i think one of the actor, Josh Duhamel is damn shuai lor. Haha.

Ratatouille is also another really nice movie.
Story about a rat who loves how to cook.
Though the story line is a little bit ridiculous but luckily it is made into a animation, cos i really cant imagine all these real life rats in the kitchen preparing food. So disgusting.
Aniway, the storyline is good. N the animations esp the food in the show are also not bad.

For those of you who still don't know.
I already have a job.
Will be working in Dhoby Ghaut. As a Starhub dealer hot line agent.
Basically what we do is to receive call from the starhub sales person and later, check whether the customer is eligible to sign the contract and then issue out the approval code.
Sounds easy. No.
Today was my first day.
And all the starhub policies and how to operate the system is already confusing me. Tml will likely be my 1st hands on. Nervous lor. Hope can master the whole thing well.
Oh yar, from now on, due to work, i might not be available on the weekends. But i will still haf 2 weekdays off.
Right now, my working hours is from 11am to 8.30pm machiam like doing retail. Haha.

For CNY, I am glad to announce that i am off from CNY eve till the sunday. Yeah!!

Oh yar, on the 15th Feb i still cant confirm cos my work schedule is not out yet. So sorrie for not being able to confirm.

The rest of the days except Sunday i will be working. I guess i will be free after school? Haha.. Busy hah? Haha...no choice. Hehe.. Hopefully i can cope lo. Ya..i know i cannot play computer too much and need to rest more. Hehe...

To Xianhao: All the best in job hunting. And dont be too choosy la. Really! There is nothing such a perfect job. Last time i also like that. Wanted high pay. But..to find a job with high pay, you will have to wait and hunt very long until you feel like giving up. So in end, i take any jobs that i think is reasonable for me.

Jobs and Clothes Hunting

Life after ORD is so sweet.
Can finally enjoy the freedom as a normal civilian.
No more waking up early in the morning and that kinda shit.
No more doing jobs that i have absolutely no interest in.
Yay!!

Now, i am currently hunting for jobs.
Preferably administrative and customer service related jobs.
I am actually okay with working in the weekends and working in shifts as long as i only work 5 days a week and the pay is $1200 a month or $7.50 an hour.
As of now, i already have 3 recruit express agents helping me hunt for jobs.
But you know, agents introduced job all the pay quite low one. Currently i am only offered jobs that are $6.50 an hour. I personally think quite low cos i am able to commit myself for 6 months, i think should look for better paid jobs. But my mum says, $6.50 is quite good le, considering i have no working experience. Dunno leh. What you guys think?

Today, i received a call from Starhub.
They are offering me a data entry clerk position for $7 an hour.
I told them i will get back to them again. Cos my target is $7.50. Dunno wanna quickly make decisions then regret when better offers comes. That job i think have to sign contract one. So for now, i think will wait and see.

Tuition wise. I applied to 2 agencies le. None of them had called me with any assignments.
Still hunting.

Really lor. I think a good resume really make a hella lot of difference. Before i ord, i did one resume then send out to a lot of people, none replied lar. Thereafter, i redo my resume after looking at other people's resume. Send out 3 resumes after i finished editing. And guess what.....all three of them replied lar. So amazed lor. The lesson? Please don't be lazy and go and do up your resumes if you want that job.

Chinese New Year is around the corner.
This year would be a little different from previous ones.
My dad won't be able to join us for CNY celebration as he will be in Dubai working.
My mother side grandma just passed away last year, so i don't think they will gather at her house anymore. The family is generally split up after the funeral and apparently no one is talking to each other anymore because of some money issue (talk about bad family soap opera).

But still glad that my friends and family members are with me and i should be thankful.
One of my fren wouldn't be able to enjoy all these though. He just passed away in a bike accident.
Really shocking.
The funeral was really quiet also. His mother was crying and receiving condolences from those who came. Haiz. Really felt like crying also. Very 心酸.
I really hope that the Lord will keep him safe in heaven and will bring his family members through this tough period. And thank God, he was a Christian.

Okay back to CNY.
I am busy shopping for new year clothes now.
I intend to buy new clothes not only for CNY but also those that i can wear to work. Which means i intend to buy clothes suitable for these two occasions. Save money!!! My fren said it is a smart idea. Haha.

Hopefully can find them during all the remaining shopping trip i have left.

Haiz..Sianz..I feel cheated by a tuition agency!! Argh~~!! *angry*

Today went for my 1st lesson with a p3 student which this particular tuition agency gave me.
Taught her English, Maths and Science. Her English was poor as she was from other country. After teaching so "xin ku" for 1 1/2 hour, the lesson finish.
And guess what? The mum says she dont wanna continue anymore reason being she don wan any tuition this month.
Saying how could she pay me. Saying what she at 1st don wan tuition, the agency force her to take. Agency ask her to let me teach the child for 1st lesson, then if don want, give me $5. WHAT? $5 ONLY! The agency says $160 for 8 lessons. And you gave me $5 for teaching ur child so much! I feel CHEATED! Shouldnt have taught the child so much. You know you should at least give me $10?! I dont know whether the mum is lying or really is the agency ask her to give me $5. But i know one(or maybe both?) of them is lying!! Argh~~!!! "Ke wu de" people!!!

Evaluation Test

It has been a really long time since i stepped into an examination hall.
Today was my driving evaluation test (you have to pass this stupid test before being able to book for your basic theory test). I was like so nervous lar, also dunno why, i think long time never take test and exams le, thats why feel like so freaking nervous.

The test was a 45 minutes test.
In this short 45 minutes i have to answer all the 70 MCQ questions given lor.
Plus to pass this test, u have to have at least 90% of the questions correct. Which means i can only afford to have 7 wrong questions.

And the test is not so easy as some other people say lor. The questions is like damn tricky lar. Some questions i dont even know what they asking lor.
Some questions i noe the answer one, but when i see the options, dont have the answer i was thinking sia.
For Eg:
There was this qn asking what is road hogging.
I was thinking driving at a really low speed to cause obstruction to others.
The options to my horror dont have this ans wor, all the options are like, cause people to overtake to the left or to the right. Arrgh!!!
To my surprise, there were actually two exact same questions on the test lor.
I was thinking, die le lar, 2 questions just gone like that.

Half way through the test, i was thinking, jialat le lar, confirm fail.
When the test ended and results were shown, to my expectation, yup i failed.
Result: 84%
Passing Mark: 90%
Hate it!!!

As i was walking out of the classroom, a lot of mixed feelings.
Anger, frustration, sadness, disappointment, self doubt and lack of confidence.
I even wanted to quit driving. Serious.
Then i stopped myself.
Why am i like that?
I dont even know myself?
How come such a small thing like failing a simple evaluation test and cause me to wanna quit driving altogether? Not me lor.
Is it because of lack of interest? Or do i find the learning process very tedious?

All in all, i really dont like this side of me. Always doubting myself, always so lack of confidence and always give up so easily. Why cant i just stay more positive? I don't even know why i am becoming like that.
I wonder if it is because of army.
I wonder if it is because of those betrayal of my close frens.
Or i wonder is it because i drifted myself apart from God.

Oh Lord, please fill me with the Holy Spirit and make me a stronger, more optimistic, more positive and more confident person!!!!

I cant believe so many ppl dont like *ann*r's gf. At first i thought only me but when all of us started gossiping, then i found out got other people also dont like her.

Hey there,
I had a nice time today with Sharon, Charlene, Vivien and JunLiang. Ate in Bugis Junction Japanese Restaurant called MOF. The food there was okay. The ambience is good though and i had Hokkaido Chocolate Ice Cream. It was so superb lar.

Today was also a chance to do all my complaining to those present. Share all my unhappiness with SAF with all those present. Haha. Junliang also had the same thoughts as me lor. So glad that it is not only me who got problems with SAF. Therefore all these goes to show that SAF really have its problem. And this idea is shared amongst lots of others who were under the same sucky system.

Alright, the Xmas outings we had were also very fun.
Eating at the vegetarian pasta stall and trying to finish my spicy curry baked rice. Haha. I would say the food there ok onli lor. Haha. But i think i would be happy to eat anywhere, coz it is going out with u guys. Eating chatting gossiping and best of all no need to wear mask that i usually do. Can just be myself.

I have Enough of the SAF!!!!

Really i had enough!!!!

Initially wanted to do The Zhui Xing Forum or the Informative Column today. But something came up and i really have to get this off my chest. Arrgh!!!

Well, as i was going home from my driving lesson today. I received a call!!!
Apparently, on the my day of my ORD which is 18th of Jan, there is suppose to be a parade and selected people will be chosen to join the marching team.
The higher management without doing much thinking (well, maybe they did but only think for themselves), they put all of us who were going to ORD in the list of the marching team.

Usually for people who ORD, they just collect their IC and some documents and then off they go.
But because of this, we have to take part in some stupid parade of some stupid change of command where we will not be involved in the new command after that coz we ORD. No meaning right.

And then the reason the higher management gave for putting our names is very lame also.
Coz the company so many people, why choose us right?
They say, they don't want production to go down. Hello, its like just for one day only lor, how low can the production go? Plus actual event is in the evening lor. Don't tell mi u all will work in the evening meh.
I can't believe that they are actually doing this. The DC which i usually respected, actually gave this kinda lame and unacceptable reason and want me to just suck thumb and go.
Not to mention, he was the one who had forgotten that i was involved in the NDP spotlight team and ended up writing something like "he stayed in the workshop to aid in its production when the company in busy with NDP" in my ORD testimonial lor.
How can a leader do such a thing?? Forget about his fellow man's contribution to the company.
And yet when such a thing arises and he needs people, he never fails to remember to include our names inside.

All in all. Conclusion, they were just thinking for themselves only. SELFISH people.
In my 2 years of service, i suffered a lot of unhappiness and unfairness.
This incident just further strengthen this bad impression and image i have for the SAF.
Well, i will like to thanks SAF also, for showing me the ugly side of the world and human beings. Its an eye opener.

SAF, i have enough of you!!! So glad that i will be out soon.

Xian Hao's 2008 Resolutions

Hey, its a brand new year and time to make those new year resolutions.
These are mine.
Hope i can achieve all of them.
So here goes.

1) Pass all my driving test and Get my driving license

2) Look for a job i like and is interesting (salary above $1000 a month) to last me till i start school

3) Get Tuition assignments for year 2008.

4) Adopt healthy lifestyle even after i leave army. Exercise regularly to maintain my current weight. Don't wanna go back to last time like that. So fat.

5) Read more and have more time for reading. Especially on topics like Fashion, Business, Religion, People and Psychology.

6) Be Closer to God. Understand him better and have a tighter bond with Him.

7) Keep in touch and do not drift apart with current friends.

8) Widen social circle, add more members into 贤豪帮.

9) Be Courageous. Do not let fear obstruct the things i want to do.

10) Save and control my money and savings so that my Bank account got more money. Hopefully till $6000.

11) Maintain or even increase the standard of my zhui xing blog columns.

12) Better fashion sense. Better grooming and dress better in 2008.

13) In 2008, Life to be happier and more fulfilling than 2007.

14) Maintain a cap score of 3.5 when i go into uni next year.

15) Improvement in singing and hopefully can have a chance to learn some new stuff (drama, dancing, yoga, singing, musical instrument or music composition)

Reflections on Resolution 2007

As the year comes to an end and its time again to make new year's resolution, let me just reflect on the resolution i made at the start of the year and see whether i have achieve all of them. Thats the whole point of making resolutions right? U have to work hard to make them come true, if not might as well don't make resolutions. Haha.

These are the resolutions i made at the start of 2007. Lets see how many i have accomplish.
1) Pass IPPT Test (the army napfa test)
I passed IPPT, Thank God, after so many months of devilish training finally manage to pass.
2) Better relationships with people at work. No more conflicts and quarrels. Tired of them.
I still fight and quarrel with people, still don't like people at work. I wouldn't say i have better relationship with them but i list i think i know how to deal with them now.
3) Widen my social circle.
Not really. I need to improve on this next year.
4) Do more shopping but with the same amount of spending. (New clothes, bags, shoes and mp3)
I definitely spent alot this year. I bought mp3, handphone, lots of clothes and 2 pairs of shoes. A lot of people said i have better fashion sense. Really hope thats true, coz i wanna work in the fashion industry next time so must groom myself properly.
5) Try to survive and enjoy mi days in camp.
I did. Though sometimes still involve in some trouble, politics blah blah blah, but at least i survived. And i am glad those tough days are over.
6) Be closer to God
I think i sort of drifted away from God, haiz. But i hope that will change next year. God has definitely help a lot this year. Amen.
7) Attain higher level of singing (like hope the next competition the duo ming songs can impress u guys)
I hope i did. Haha. U guys must be the ones to tell me whether i improve. Coz i have no idea.
8) Hope got chance to sing n perform on stage.
Yup, i did. Twice some more. Was so crazy that i went to join Superstar. Lolz.
9) Introduce Christianity to more people including friends and family. Hope to bring them closer to God.
I wouldnt say i did, but i at least i got talk about Christianity to my Zhui Xing frens and i hope they will understand us better.
10) Buy good books with Borders voucher. More productive reading time. Hope can gain more things through reading!!
Yup. I got more time to read this year than i had last year. But i wish i had more coz i wanna read and know more.

So thats all, will be making my 2008 resolutions soon. I wouldnt say i accomplish alot last year. Only manage to complete about 4 of my resolutions. Haiz. Must Jiayou next year to make my life more meaningful.
I must make better resolutions also. I see my 2007 resolutions like quite meaningless leh. Haha.

Lastly, wishing all for u guys, a Happy New Year.
Lets hope 2008 will be a year of joy, happiness and fulfilling for all or us.

Hey guys,
I really had a fun time on Saturday with u guys.
It was nice to see all of u down there.
Havent had such a nice chat for a long time. I think i can chat till the sun comes out with u all lor. Haha. Great that i have frens that i can chat anithing with.

Okok, as requested by Sharon. I am posting this two episodes of 棒棒堂 show. Coz i intro to her and then she ask me to post them on the blog.

lastest update on our outing..

we will be having our outing on the 29th dec..Pls Pls no last minute back outs..will be super sad if we miss our usual christmas gathering..here are the details..

We will fix our dinner at a eating place at suntec city (courtesy of jiayan, she help me to think of where to eat..)

we will meet at 6.30pm at city hall mrt station

Its me again.
Currently on Holiday mood now.
Long time never like that already. I think i has been like 2 years since i had a long holiday and i must say, i am really loving it.

I finished Heroes Season One already.
Really a nice show, highly recommended. Lots of people who don't usually watch television or drama shows also say its nice. So u guys should give it a shot.

Finishing Witch Yoo Hee soon.
Wanna watch Coffee Prince after that.

I am currently watching Ugly Betty also.
I think you guys should go and watch lor.
For people who are interested in Fashion and stuff, this is a show for you.
Plus we really can be inspired by Betty. Her character and optimism and how she deal with all the problems. Office politics included. Ugly Betty, really nice show. Go watch it also. Can ask me for the link when u see me on msn. Not really nice to put it down here.

Reading has been okay. Though still holding The World is Flat and the latest issue of TIME most of the time. I am also reading this new book about people's character. Discovering our own strength and weakness and how we improve on it. Yup. Really hope to finish reading some of the articles or chapters soon so can share with you guys.

Hi,
Long time no blog.
So looking forward to the xmas outing on the 29th.
Wonder what presents u guys will be giving me this year? Haha. So exciting. I just love receiving presents!!!

Taxi prices are going up again.
Heard the the taxi company initially wanted to raise the price from the current $2.50 to almost $4. Siao lor. Serious.
But now, the final decision is that the price will go up till $2.80.
However lets not forget that the also increase the prices for peak hours and getting a cab at the city area. Prices rise from the usual $1 addition to $3 addition. Thats almost 200% increase lar.
Wah lau. Plus, if u take cab after 12 midnight, you will have to pay 50% more of the total cab fees (up from the usual 10% to 50%, depending on how late in the night).

All i have to say is, so much so for wanting to spice up Singapore Night Life. No transport. How to go anywhere so late at night.
The bus and mrt have already stopped servicing le lor, so late.
Night Riders don't go to all the places also.
Only option is take cab, then now so expensive lor. Wah lau.
Sometimes when i work until so late then wanna go home must take cab one lor, only transport available. Haiz. Big hole in the pocket liao.

They say what economy good, thats why increase. Its not as if when we have recession (like in 1997) they will lower the price lor. Then at the beginning of the year say pay raise lar, bonus lar blah blah, aiyah then now use all this method to take back the money. Haiz.

Furthermore, the prices of food is expected to raise also.
This is due to the fact that the prices of wheat is on the constant rise.
Demand for wheat is high in the US as the Americans have found a way to extract ethanol from wheat and use it as a source of energy to substitute oil (oil prices are on an all time high).
And since prices of wheat is increasing, other food products also increase.
Why?
Coz all the animals that u eat for meat or dairy products all feed on wheat.

In Singapore, you can already see the prices of bread going insanely high.
I heard from the radio today. The DJ went to buy 4 loaf of bread then the price she pay is $16.50. Really siao lar.

So my dear friends, in this festive season. Can still spend as usual lar. But pls pls pls dont overspend. Set aside some so that u can cope with all these inflation rates.

Xmas Celebration

Hey guys,
I know its very hard to plan this Xmas outing!!!
Think to make it easier, i will just tell u guys the dates that i am free.

As of this moment, i am free during all the weekends in Dec except on the 8th.
The weekdays i am free are as follows:
10th, 14th, 15th
17th, 20th(Hari Raya Haji)
26th to 28th
21st (Evening time), 24th (Evening), 31st (Evening)
Note: Dates are subjected to change so quickly book a time so i can reserve that day for u all!!!

I am okay with or without party.
Just all long as all of us could gather and have a nice chat can le, enjoy the festive season together can le.

I am so excited lor.
In fact, i finish buying all ur Xmas presents already!!!
Coz i scared don't have enough time to buy.
Hope u guys like the present i give this year!!!

Cambodia Incident

I think you guys must have heard about the Cambodia incident all over the news and the local newspapers.

The Singapore Dragon Boat Team participated in a race there and when they were about to reach the dock, the dragon boat capsized. All 22 dragon boaters on board dropped into the water. 17 of them were saved. 5 were missing and found dead days later.

Well, i happen to know 2 of the dragon boat team.
1 was rescued.
The other one was found dead.

Life is really really fragile.
We really don't know what is going to happen tml.
So, please my friends, treasure every moment and every minute and second of your life.
Treasure the things you have, your family, your friends!!!!
Never do anything that will make you regret.

The friend who passed away was from my BMT platoon.
We did chat, but didnt really talk that much and i was not really to him.
I remember there was this time when our platoon sergeants wanted us to write down the best and worst 5 members in your platoon.
I written his name as one of the best 5.
To me, he was a good leader and a guy with very good integrity.
His character is also very good and gets along well with everyone.
N i cant believe it, i just saw him last tues during some army career fair. But i didnt had a chance to say hi. N i guess i nv will.
Heard that his dad passed away last year.
Then now this happen.
I guess it must have been a major blow to his mum.
My Lord, i pray that you bless his mum and give her the strength to go through this period. Please help her through all the challenges ahead!!!
My Lord, i also pray that Wei Cheng could rest in peace and may you bring his soul along with you to the heavenly kingdom.

To my colleague who was rescued.
I am glad you are okay!!! Thank God you are!!!
But losing five of your beloved team mates must have been a devastating and shocking thing for you.
Well, i hope you can stay strong and hopefully you will regain your normal self soon.
You were always a happy go lucky person. I certainly hope you will stay that way.
I will also be praying for you.

My Long Weekend

I took off on thursday and friday coz apparently i have too much off and leave and i need to clear them before they forfeit them away.

But i stayed at home lor. Haha. Everyday is so busy with work and exams and therefore nobody free to come out. But i had definitely accomplish a lot of things this weekend. Watched a hell lot of drama. Haha.
Here is a list of drama that i am currently watching:
-爱杀17 (Bump off lover)
- Heroes (the one that is currently shown on Channel 5, apparently the internet already have up till the second season le, thats why watching on the internet instead of TV)
- 魔女游戏 (Witch Yu Hee, a Korean drama that is about to show on Channel U)
- 恶作剧之吻 (Vcd)
- 神雕侠侣 (Dvd, finishing soon)
Here is a list of drama that i will be going to watch after i finish watching the current ones:

- 换换爱
- 18禁不禁

Something happened also during my off days that make me feel like. Haiz. Really give up on the people in my company.
Well, on Monday i am suppose to report to Jurong Camp for my technical handling test.
I am on off day on friday, so obviously i dunno what happened right?
Then nobody informed me of anything lor.
Not a single soul.
Until i ahve to go around and ask then i get the answer.
Everyone is just so selfish and self-centered.

Oh yar, i bought my black vest!!!
Finally!!!
Though it is abit ex. $39.90.
Really cannot buy anymore things liao. I keep buying stuff this month lor.
Cannot soend already, this month.
Lucky nv buy the 换换爱 Vcd.
Coz it was selling at only $25 got special sale!! Heng nv buy, if not have to say bye bye to my black vest.

Next week, hope i can get more leave.
I dun wanna stay at the working place and be stuck with so many selfish devils!!

God, i wanna be close to you also. Please come back to me!!!

God is on Holiday

上帝最近好像放假去了，我似乎感觉不到他的存在。
I want so badly to feel God sometimes, but recently he has been absent.
I can no longer feel him around me anymore these days.
Hope it is just temporary.

Mother Teresa hasnt felt God presence for almost 50 years. Yet she continue to believe and serve Him. That very admirable and noble.

Unlike me, only a few weeks then the pain and feeling is so unbearable le.

Terri says sometimes you may feel as of God isnt there but thats when he is carrying you through your struggles, when trial comes, He just wants you to be stronger, doesnt mean he not there. Look up to Him and he will see you through.
Hope it is like what she says. I dont want God to disappear from my life.
Pls my Lord, let me feel your presence and may You guide my through all the troubles and problems i have.

I am in isolation mood right now.
Dont feel like interacting wif anyone.
Protective Shield On!!!

Feel so sian whenever i go to work.
Driving lesson not progressing also.
Reading not progressing.
Everything remains stagnant.

Science Centre Exhibition

For the past 4 days, i have been working at the Science Centre Exhibition which is at Toa Payoh Mall. From 10am to 8pm. Feel so tired now after those 4 days. But happy. =))
Haha..i had lots of fun interacting with the kids.

This year, this science centre exhibition is 10th one.
Every year June and Nov, they will have the exhibition in different shopping mall.
Its open to public and its free admission!
They have the science show, the hands-on corner, the exhibits and the drawing competition.
I am at the hands-on corner.

Really, i tell you, its very Very Very intersting to interact with the kids. They are sOOOoooo cute!!!
I remember got one boy, who loves dinosaurs a lot! And he told us a lot about dinosaurs. Wat T-Rex la, what dinosaur eat what la, etc. Haha...

Then there is this girl, she came in to join the workshop, then my male colleague asked her to sit down. Then suddenly she cried!! Haha..gave me a fright. Then my female colleague went to find her mum. After my colleague pursued her, she finally calm down and went back to her seat.

Want to know the reasons why she cried??

Because, she want Jie Jie, dont want Kor Kor. Hahaha..so cute.. =))

P.S: So the chalet idea just cancel lo since no one like interested and its quite ex also.

Chemical Defence Training

Our company is going to undergo a lot of checks in the following weeks. Security checks, safety checks, yada yada, whatever u can think of. Thats why whenever i need to go back to the stupid workshop to work, will only fall out at 6pm then by the time i reach home, its already 8pm. Wah piang. So tired and sian can. Going to ORD le still have to do all this shit.

Luckily this week only need to go back on Mon, Tues and Fri.
Coz on Wed and Thurs we got this Chemical Defence Training.
As you noe, chemical warfare is becoming more and more popular, thus its impt for us to go know what to do when chemical warfare strikes us.
But wah lau, its like so troublesome lor.
To wear the whole mask and suit that makes u look like an astronaut already very troublesome le. And very stuffy inside, esp in Singapore's weather condition.
Then when u are in the mask, u still need to eat drink and shit write. Wah the steps are like worse lor. Everytime must disinfect yourself with this powdery stuff. Must powder ur gloves, take them out, powder ur mask, powder powder and powder just to drink lor. Wah lau. Lucky no need to do it everyday if not i die lor.
On Thurs, we are suppose to go into this gas chamber filled with tear gas. And at the end of it, we are suppose to take out our mask and the gas will make us choke and cry one lor. It was so nervous lar, coz i was thinking like so saddist like that, force pple to breathe in chemicals. Then came my turn and i went into the gas chamber with my mask and everything on. After everything done, i have to take out my mask and say my IC no, rank and name lor. Then i just take out and say. Wah surprisingly i nv cry lor, haha, a lot of others did lor, some even got mucus flowing out of their nose. I just got this super irritating sensation in my eyes.
But i guess the tear gas are having an effect on me now, they went to attack my weakest organ, my thoart. Arrgh. Now my thoart is like damn pain lar. Wah lau.
Cannot sing le lor. So irritating.

Was on the bus a few days ago and very happy to see this music video playing on TV Mobile.
Its a theme song to celebrate ASEAN's 40th Anniversary.
Sang none other than my favourite local singer, Stefanie Sun. This song is called Rise.

Hope this song will give motivation to those having exams right now. Must jiayou k? Hope all of u can rise to the occasion and rise to the top your cohort.

Channel 5 is showing this excellent show every Monday at 10pm.
Its called Heroes.
Damn nice.
Its about all these people who found out that they have special abilities.
Very interesting. A bit like Xmen coz its also about the evolution of human beings.
There are all sorts of abilities they have.
There is this girl who can heal herself when she is injured.
These two brothers who can fly.
This Japanese guy who can teleport.
This artist who is on drugs and can paint pictures that will come true but he doesnt noe he drew all these after the drugs wear off.
This single mom who has double personality.
This police officer who can read mind.
Interesting right??
Right now, the story only starts by showing the struggles they have in trying to come to the fact they have these powers. Wonder how the story will develop.

hello..regardless of where we will be having our party, we still need food..so here's the update

i have another suggestion on the japanese style cheaper but possibly more common. That is we can make like udon bento sets..like those u eat outside. So which do u prefer?

i may try it out before our party or use u all as guinea pigs so choose wisely ah..since xian hao 8th cannot then tentatively our party on the 22th..i need to confirm with the rest first before can decide ah..more updates in the following week..Good luck to all those having exams!!
